Python Segway Initialization

Post by Phillip.Wong » Mon Dec 09, 2013 9:09 pm

I've been using and altering the python demo program for a while to suit my needs. However, now I would like to start from scratch and rewrite it. I'm just stuck on find out exactly what I need to code in for the initialization.

I just need this program to be able to tell the platform to drive straight/turn, then read selected values from the IMU. Is there a more bare bones script for that?

Thank you.

Hi Phillip,

Please reply to let us know if the following describes an option that would be useful to you:

A basic script that omits the RMP Demo OCU's GUI, xbox controller mapping, menus, etc., and will accept commands (from a command line) and provides the raw feedback data (entire array) to a file. Communication interface would be Ethernet for simple compatibility with Linux and Windows.

Thanks!

Hi Phillip,

Please make sure you are subscribed to this topic so you can be notified when a solution is posted. We are working on a script to do what's being talked about here and I expect we'll have something for you try within the next few days.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello,

I have posted the basic interface example:

Basic threaded RMP interface example

Hope it helps, it should be a good starting point for a user application without all of the OCU GUI complexity.
