SCB Firmware Release

Segway has released updated firmware for the Smart Charger Board (SCB). This firmware update is a maintenance release that fixes a bug whereby an error was reported erroneously. Affected units experience a red blinking light when charging. The light blinks 2 times every 5 seconds, indicating "HV out...

Re: RMP X440 - No Aux Battery Info

David,

This can happen if there is no CAN communication between the ABB and the CCU. Is this a new development, or have these variables always been missing? Did you by chance open the User Interface Module recently?

Re: RMP210 Red Blinking LEDs when Charging

EJ, We have been doing some testing here at Segway headquarters and have finally isolated this problem. There was a bug in the firmware on the Smart Charger Board causing it to erroneously report the HV Input error. We plan to release a firmware update for the Smart Charger Board within the next wee...

Re: No control screen when running Demo OCU

The control screen is only visible if you have selected "mouse" as your input method. In that case the only way to interact with the RMP is via a graphical interface. However, you are using an OMNI, so you will have selected Logitech Extreme 3D as your controller and should have that joystick attach...

Re: Magnetic field/gauss generation?

We have not tested the RMPs to determine what strength magnetic field they produce. The motors do use magnetic fields to function, the field is very low (exact measurement not yet determined). The field is further dampened because the motor is inside the aluminum chassis. One test that we have perfo...

Re: Bad propulsion battery

The Demo OCU does report the individual battery States Of Charge. From front to rear, the variables are front_base_batt_1_soc, front_base_batt_2_soc, rear_base_batt_1_soc, and rear_base_batt_2_soc. These are reported as percent of total charge. If you log the data, these values should be recorded in...

Re: RC Control RMP440LE with Spektrum DX7S

Gear is Up 100% and Down 100%
Flap is Up 100% and Down 100%

You should be able to listen in on the RMP's response packets via Ethernet, USB, or CAN. But I have not tested that.

Re: RC Control RMP440LE with Spektrum DX7S

You *do* need the E-stop button attached, otherwise the RMP will not power on, and will blink red and turn itself off every time. We have designed and tested the RMP to work with a 6-channel Spectrum transmitter/receiver (DX6i transmitter and AR6115 receiver). Because of the way the RC Radio signal ...

Re: RMP 440SE fails to initialize after fully charging batte

As the batteries get closer and closer to 100% full, they blink less and less frequently. It may be that the Front 2 LED is blinking only once every few minutes. If there is an error with the battery, the LED will blink red. If the battery is not detected (or is missing), the LED will be solid red. ...

Re: Windows 8 driver

That is an expected message. Our drivers do not contain digital signatures, and a similar message appears when they are installed on Windows 7.

I do not have a Windows 8 machine to test it on, but is it possible to continue with the install anyway?
